I cannot begin to explain just what it was like the first time I saw a booth filled with beautifully machined cylinder heads on display. The closest thing I can relate it to is how I believe my wife must act when she finds something she really wants and proceeds to give me the huge puppy-dog “but I want it!” eyes. Booth after booth, I was just in awe at not only what was on display, but how it was on display. Let’s face facts: there is nothing really sexy about piston rings. They are purposeful, aren’t seen one the engine is assembled and only become an issue when you blow up the engine. But here…it was like looking in a Neiman-Marcus catalog and this was the present they were offering up for this year’s special. Anodized brake rotors. Connecting rods laid out in perfect display.
