2017 Grand National Roadster Show: We’ve Not Yet Begun To (Photo) Fight!

2017 Grand National Roadster Show: We’ve Not Yet Begun To (Photo) Fight!

The Pomona Fairplex is an interesting place and it is a pretty important place in American motorsports history we’d say. The drag strip there is the oldest operating track in the country, the NHRA Museum is there, the place hosts multiple humongous car shows every year, and of course it plays host to the Grand National Roadster Show. Over the years it has been the site of road races, horse racing, and of course the massive fair. It was also a motor base for the US Army during WWII and of course in 1961 the first Winternationals was held there.

The point here is that this show is not just about seeing some shined up cars (or in the case of our lead photo, not so shined up) but rather an pretty awesome experience at one of the true hunks of hallowed motorsports ground in the country. Because the place does not see a lot of action it does not get the respect it deserves but the Fairplex is a damned fine location for this most awesome of hot rod shows.

Lewistown Raceway in Montana is the oldest operating NHRA track in the country. Opened and has run every season since 1957.
