What does it take to make me willingly go to Maine in winter? It isn’t skiing, it isn’t the scenery, and it certainly isn’t the “lobstah”…I’m allergic. No, I’m at a ski resort in Maine with Lohnes because the peaceful and picturesque ski slopes are about to be rattled to the core by 900 horsepower race trucks fitted with tires that look more like medieval torture devices than off-road rubber in a race that has captured our attention since we first heard about it. Red Bull Frozen Rush 2016 is shaping up to be an interesting run, and the teams have been busy preparing the trucks for battle. We got to take a quick look around inside the pit area. The teams of the likes of Bryce Menzies, K.J. Anderson and Rob MacCachren are all scrambling to get the trucks tuned and ready, and from what we have seen on the ground so far, we are expecting wild racing…especially once the studded BFGoodrich tires start ripping through the snow layers. Check out a gallery of our quick look around the pits!
