Covering Bonneville Speed Week 2016 is not just about race cars. It is about trying to give you the whole picture about what makes this event so great. The insane location, the creativity of the competitors, and the amazing speeds are all huge parts but what about the supporting cast? That’s what this gallery of photos is about. While Saturday and Sunday are typically the days that are teaming with hot rods on the salt we saw a good contingent on them here on Friday as well. Everything from speedsters to big block powered monsters that seem like they should be racing were present and accounted for.
Tonight we’ll hit the car show at the Nugget Hotel and Casino which will be wall to wall cars but here are the hearty souls that were out and about on the salt (and the street) today under beautiful skies in Utah. We pretty much want to own every car in this photo collection!
