Bonneville Speed Week 2016: The Friday Night Nugget Car Show Tradition Continues

Bonneville is about tradition and ritual. Some of those traditions and rituals have been in place since SCTA speed week began in 1948 and others of them may not have quite that level of history but are fun and cool nonetheless. Take the Friday night car show at the Nugget Hotel and Casino. This thing starts in the later parts of the afternoon and runs deep into the night. It is where the cool hot rods, muscle cars, old trucks, freaks, vans, rat rods, and other iron comes to see and be seen. The place is jammed to the gills and everyone just kind of walks around and sees the stuff that they want to see.

That’s about the long and short of it. A nice Utah summer evening, tons of cars that strike at every point in the hot rodding world and the hot anticipation of what’s to come tomorrow when the race cars, trucks, and motorcycles take to the salt in anger.
