Gallery: More Street Rods, Hot Rods, and Memories From A Car Show Filled Summer

(By Doug Gregory) –  Didn’t see a lot of cars this year riding high.  There were some straight-axle types with a nose-high attitude, but not as many as I’ve seen in previous years.  Lots of low stuff with only a few being the ground-scraping level.    This is the norm just like red and black being the dominant colors used on the Pre-49 niche.  Rumors that green, root beer, or faux patina are the new ‘red or black’ have proven false.  Yes there are a lot of pale to olive-drab greens and certainly root beer has seen more use, but the old standards are still standard far not only for the oldies, but across the whole gearhead myriad of vehicles.

Couple of things to note in this gallery.  First is I am not big on celebrities or famous folks, but….Stacy David is a true gearhead and we captured him talking to the folks in the Speedway booth.  Second is that I did not use a star filter at any time during this event.  It just so happened that the light was producing the effect on its own so I took advantage of it.  Yes, I admit I am a photo opportunist.  Only car pictures though.

Enjoy the images.
