Gallery: Vintage Trucks And Tractors At The Central NY Living History Museum

(Photos by Jeremy George) – There are bitchin’ museums spread all over this country. Literally every state has a fistful of them filled with cool old machinery, cars, trucks, and historical artifacts that you never knew existed. BangShifter Jeremy George recently visited the Central NY Living History Museum and spent some time in the Brockway Truck and vintage tractor exhibits. Brockway was a truck brand that started out as a NY buggy company back in the days of horses and grew into a maker of big rigs and other heavy duty trucks right through the 196os and into the 1970s when they closed up shop after being bought by Mack and suffering through several work stoppages.

All of the old tractors speak to the area’s rich farming history and agricultural heritage. There are lots of Allis Chalmers machines that are mixed in with some cool Fordson, Case, McCormick-Deering, and other makes as well. The Brockway trucks are the real centerpiece of the BangShifty stuff at the museum. The rigs are cool but there is an ancient restored school bus that is totally freaking awesome. The truly old school trucks are near to look at as well with their ancient chain drives and all.

Fact: Brockway trucks were positive ground. Don’t try to put your CB in one.
    Great gallery Jeremy.
