Keels and Wheels 2016: Our First Installment From One Of The Greatest Shows In Texas

Keels and Wheels 2016: Our First Installment From One Of The Greatest Shows In Texas

(Photos by Charles Wickam) – If there is an event that we look forward to seeing coverage from each year it is the amazing Keels and Wheels show held each Spring in Seabrook, Texas. This is a unique event in the fact that it does combine cars and boats in a way that few others do. The floating artwork that fills the marina is contrasted by the rolling artwork that fills the grounds at the Lakewood Yacht Club. Charles Wickam has been our man on the scene for the last couple of years and again he did an awesome job.

This year’s show theme was Duesenberg, concept cars, and muscle cars. That’s a heck of a spread and it hits all of the areas we love in terms of history, styling, and performance. In the water the theme was Chris Craft racing runabouts and there was a great spread of them to gawk at as well. This is the first of several installments that we will run from the event because of Charles’s hard work snapping away.

If you have never been to this show we highly recommend putting it on your calendar. It is unique, it is cool, and it is really something that stands apart from virtually every other event we cover of the course of a given year. We know that Charles has been hooked since the first time he saw it and if you can believe it, we trust his tastes on such matters.
