More Boxes, More Barges, More NSRA Nationals Coverage Right Here!

More Boxes, More Barges, More NSRA Nationals Coverage Right Here!

(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) – More cars with smooth lines, curves, and brightwork in abundance (for most).  We’ve got tail fins, bumperettes,  massive hood ornaments, and tons of curved glass.  The compound curves for most of these are only matched by that of their see-through panels.  Another thing most of these have in common are luggage compartments that could nearly conceal a grand piano.

Pop the trunk on one of these and you’ll be greeted by a cargo space rivaling many modern SUVs.  We’ve got a whole different set of galleries for those wanting to see the RV-sized long roofs .  In here it’s hardtops, business coupes, sedans, and droptops.  Lately we’ve been hearing 4-door cars referred to as ‘crew cabs’.  Can’t say there’s much of an argument against it and certainly some of these machines were used for utilitarian purposes during a portion of their existence.  I’d say all these cars lead a pampered life these days and the NSRA Nationals was packed with them.   Enjoy.
