(Words and Photos by Bob Chiluk) – What a perfect name for your shop that builds killer LS powered machines! “Speed Inc” and its owner Tom ordered some perfect weather and temps.He then trucked in a ton of food and drink.He rolled up the shop doors and let the masses in. We were all curious to see what the wizards had wrenched on in the months before. Speed inc can do a simple computer tune and then check the results right away on their in house chassis dyno. Want more? No problem.
Big horsepower is spoken here. The crew can build and fabricate you some wild twin turbo LS powered machine that will scare old people and make children cry. Shop emplyee Dan has one such ride. Looks like a stock ,nicely preserved Typhoon. Be afraid , very afraid. How does 779 wheel horsepower that runs mid 9’s with woking air coditioning grab you! And yes that is a baby seat in the back! Its that street friendly that Dan often totes his family around in this mild looking brawler. Or take beautiful looking 59 Impala. Other than the billet wheels this could pass a concourse restored automobile with the hood down. Pop the bonnet and check out the mill that lurks beneath. Wild , twin turbo’d LS power that can haul the crew and carry a few more in the trunk! I’m glad they left the column shift and factory steering wheel in place too! Definitley to be on your must do if you are in the neighborhood.
The wheels are actually stock for that Typhoon. The are cast aluminum and machined, no billet. I love it!
The wheels Bob was referring to are on the 59 Impala.
