So the photos just keep coming like a landslide and that’s OK with us as long as it is OK with you! This time we have a couple of really nice hot rods and then a big batch of land speed racing cars for you to check out. The land speed work is an interesting place right now. Lots of interest is being given to the SCTA, ECTA, LTA, and other traditional modes of competition but there are also splinter factions of standing mile organizations geared less toward record setting and more toward personal record setting.
The cars you will see in this gallery are purpose built to be raced at places like El Mirage and Bonneville. They were built using a rule book and guidelines, lots of creativity, as much money as anyone could spare, and lots of sweat. The beauty of land speed racing is that there is zero prize money. Anyone who does this is in it for personal achievement and the glory of knowing you accomplished something which are two of the greatest gifts anyone can receive in their life.
Enough philosophy, onto the photos from the Roadster Show 2016!
Can anybody tell me what type of engine is in that rear engined Orange “Stretchy Truck”
It appears to be a V-4? But I have no idea what, sponsors are a Diesel shop, but I’m not up on my diesels.
