Lots of times guy will build a gasser themed hot rod and it kind of goes off the rails. You know what we mean. It starts out with good intentions and then ends up looking like something Homer Simpson dreamed up. That’s not the case here as this 1941 Ford truck is absolutely awesome and hits the whole genre pretty much between the eyes. From the ride height to the truncated pickup box at the back, it feels like we’re looking at something we would have seen at the drags in the early 1960s. We’re loving the front fenders, headlights, and roof chop. The exhaust that exits under the running boards is also fantastic.
The engine is a cross ram equipped small block Chevy and while we might ditch the scoops for velocity stacks, we think it is pretty cool. The car probably would not have run in the A/Gas category with this engine combo but we can go on artistic license on that one. The Cragar wheels are a little late for the period of the rest of the car but again, we’re splitting hairs. White steel wheels would probably replace those if we got our mitts on the thing.
The little pickup box is perfect and is totally reminiscent of the Willys trucks that ran at the same time this car would have been competing (although we know it did not). We think it is cool that the factory style rear fenders were used and those do a lot to add to the aesthetic of the truck as being a legit 1960s gasser. We’re interested in your opinion on this car/gasser. We’d cruise this thing with no issue at all (with some small tweaks) and we’re wondering if you feel the same way.
This is a classy build from front to back!

neat truck! The 34 chevy fenders and grille look good on it. A blown hemi would look good in there too, but since it’s a driver, the small block is fine.
I dig it! only changes I would make is I’d 86 the Cragars and replace them with something a little more inline with the theme and then take about 3 inches off the top of the bed to bring the proportions in…..
MAN, I WOULD DRIVE IT LIKE THERES NO TOMORROW, LOVE IT.ITS RUNNING I”LL CHANGE IT IF IT BREAKES ,FUN TIME NOW….
swap the cross ram for a tunnel ram, drop the bed to just below the belt line, ditch the wheelie bars, a set of slotted mags (if you could find some) and drive it like you stole it
Trash the SBC, change the wheels, drop the bed, and drive the sh** out of it!
