(Photos by Wes Allison) – While the nitro burning dragsters and altereds grab many headlines during the March Meet, it is the sportsman competitors running open cars with short and long wheelbases that outnumber the pros greatly. This gallery celebrates the cars that we saw testing yesterday at Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, California because starting today they are racing for real. As the small tire guys like to say, “Testing is OVER!” Qualifying and eliminations will be the order of the weekend from this point forward.
