Give us a B-body on a chassis dyno with a motor that’s hanging well out of the engine bay and we’ll love it forever. That’s the case of this chassis dyno video featuring an 8-71 blown 440 big block powered Mopar churning the dyno rollers and actually blowing a tire in the process. Yeah, you’ll notice something weird happen and then a lot of vibration as well.
Before that happens though, there’s the move that this big monster makes when the driver lands on the gas. The thing leaps and strains mightily against the straps that are holding it back. Literally like a beast chained to the wall, this thing is trying to get loose with every ounce of its might.
While we do not know what the power numbers are the original poster did say that it is an 8-71 blower that is shoving 14 psi down the throat of the big block. It sure looks and sounds damned healthy to us. What do you think?
In my dyno days I lived in fear of that happening, especially with an exotic (Ferrari, etc.) on the dyno. It never happened to me though it DID rarely happen to others from time to time.
