Maytag Heating and Air Conditioning day at the K&N Spring Fling Million presented by Optima Batteries was one of the nicest days in Spring Fling history. Perfect temps, blue skies, and a ton of race cars made for a great day of big money drag racing. Not only do we have the results and highlights from the fine folks at the Spring Fling Million, but also tons of photos that we shot as well.

Rayce Kidd, nope we are NOT making that up, won the $20,000 prize for Thursday’s Racepak Race Day during the Spring Fling Million event. Despite crazy wind and dust, he went rounds on Thursday and was looking for a win when the event was postponed due to said wind. It was continued Friday morning before the Spring Fling Million race, and Rayce came out ahead.
Also of note, BANGshifter extraordinare AJ Thomas, aka the kid, put up a .004 package during the Brodix run for $100,000 on Friday morning. Run a perfect .000 light, and then run dead on your dial with a zero, and Peter Biondo will hand you $100,000 in cash. Nobody has won it yet, but man they keep getting close! AJ was the second guy to run a .004 package, and that put him in the number 3 spot. The prize? An entry into the 2018 Spring Fling Million. After winning one of the raffles to get into the 2017 race, he was feeling pretty lucky. After going three rounds and taking home some cash, he was feeling like coming to this race was a really really good idea. And not too shabby for a kid who only has a couple dozen runs in this dragster.
