This 1978 Ford Pinto Wagon Will Cost You Less Than $1000! Begging To Be A Drag Car!

This 1978 Ford Pinto Wagon Will Cost You Less Than $1000! Begging To Be A Drag Car!

I’m a freak for wagons, and I’ve always thought that Pintos were one of the best Fords made, being a Chevrolet guy after all, so when I saw this cool little 1978 Ford Pinto Wagon for cheap I was really excited. I wish I had room for another project, the money to buy it, and the time to actually work on it. But you do! So do this for me. Buy it. I have a feeling that $700 or less takes it. It runs, but needs a tire and a water pump. So lets say you put tires on it, add a thermostat and water pump, maybe a few other doo dads, and then a cheap turbo and efi conversion so it can be really fun. Think about this!

Am I the only one who sees the potential?

I want it.

How about you?

I was curious enough about this one to search the area code – it comes up as Kentucky. While it is interesting, it’s not interesting enough for me to try to do a fly and drive on a car that needs repairs – or try to borrow a tow vehicle.

Jesus, I thought this was the ’80 wagon I owned about 10 years ago–exact same color. I had also gutted it, in my case for a land-speed car. I definitely have a soft spot for Pintos…

Friend had a Pinto (not a wagon) in the 70’s. My first time driving a rack-and-pinion car. I was oversteering going down the road. Ha ha. This one looks nice enough to just fix the deficiencies and drive as she is.
