CLICK HERE To Watch The Wild Florida Street Outlaws Race LIVE Starting At 12PM Eastern

FYI – Due to impending rain all day tomorrow, the Florida Street Outlaws drag race will be held on Sunday rather than Saturday as planned. We are going to be bringing you all the action, starting at 12 NOON Eastern. Spread the word and join us!

BangShift.com is proud to announce that we’ll be LIVE broadcasting the Florida Street Outlaws Shootout THIS SATURDAY from Lakeland Dragway in Lakeland, Florida. This event is an eighth-mile contest that will feature a ton of entrants battling for a spot on the top ten list of the baddest street cars in Florida. In addition to that class there will be a 7.50 index class as well as a Quick 8 heads-up eliminator as well. The main event though, is the nearly wide open Outlaws class that will feature an amazing array of street legal iron in a virtually wide open format. When we say wide open, we mean it. Here’s the rules:

All races are 1/8 th mile with the start on a .400 Pro Tree.

Open to any Domestic or Import vehicle. (Air Conditioning Optional).

 No Clocks.

 No Prep.

 Any Tire.

 Any Engine.

 Any Power Adders.

 Valid Fl License & Tag.

Working Head, Tail and Brake Lights.

No Round Tube Chassis Cars, Back Half Allowed.

(Put It In The Beams…And Shut Up)

Jumping the Start or Crossing the Center Line Automatic Loss of Race.

Required Safety Equipment: Helmet, Fire Jacket, Seat belt, Long Pants and Shoes.

1st is a Shakedown Pass, 2nd & 3rd are Qualifying Passes. (Must be 1 from each lane)

As stated above, the event will happen on February 8th.

The man behind this madness is Joe Miller of Hole Shot Wheels. After spending a lifetime in the industry and around drag racing, Miller wanted to put on a race that featured all out, wild action on a drag strip and not on the streets. With the only thing mattering being the win light and no track prep, you are going to see one of the most insane displays of drag strip insanity that BangShift has ever featured. We can honestly say that this is the most wide open, ragged edge race we’ve ever streamed and frankly if the deal turns out like Miller believes, there will be 100 or more cars vying for the title at Lakeland on February 8th. That means upsets and probably come carnage. We know Eddie Miller will be there with his Hot Rod Drag Week conquering Duster and Eddie says that there will be a whole bunch more ragged edged street legal Florida cars there as well.

This is the first of a few events Miller plans to put on and he describes the interest and outpouring for this one as nothing short of insane. People, racers, sponsors, and media outlets like us have all approached Joe about helping to make the race a huge success. We can’t think of a better way to spend a February weekend than in Florida at the drags, especially at a strip and an event we have never showed you before. You may have to watch wearing hockey equipment if this thing gets as nuts as we think it will.

Since when does a “round tube chassis” make a car not a “street car?” A 427 Cobra has a “round tube chassis” from the factory . . ..

I’ll see you guys at the et shack. Come on down see and experience the new Lakeland Dragstrip. Get ready for a great day of wild racing with loose rules. I’m the tech guy, I should know. 🙂

There’s plenty of unprepped track events like this. Look up Kings Of The Street sometime. They’ve had some gnarly crashes but nobody has died yet.

I AGREE 1/8 MILE IS A JOKE . LIKE AT BRADENTON FL LAST WEEK LOTS OF GOOD CARS BUT NOT MANY FANS THERE .AND THE SAD THING IS THAT IS A 1/4 MILE TRACK

      1. baggs

I don’t know anyone who races that likes the 1/8 mile crap. Those that do participate bitch about non stop. I don’t watch it AT ALL and I don’t get it, a waste of time!

Man, stop raging about 1/8th mile drag racing,,,,we all race for different reasons,,,,try holding on to a Blown,Short Wheelbase 33 “Nosedown” Willys in the eight and you will see why we do it!! I am 68 years old and can still drag with out breaking the budget. Also there are no sponsors or crew holding my hand, just me and my Wife enjoying the Day !!

I don’t have any sponsors holding my hand either. And I have tried holding a blown Hemi 33 Willys nose down. And straight.

      2. gary

I AGREE WITH YOU SINCE THIS IS AN 1/8 MILE TRACK BUT IF ITS AN 1/4 MILE I SEE NO REASON TO RUN 1/8 . THAT BEING THE CASE I WISH THE 1/8 MILE GUYS WOULD RACE AT THE 1/8 MILE TRACKS AND NOT FORCE THE 1/4 MILE TRACK TO RACE 1/8

No times, no prepping of the track?

This may be a tough presentation for live streaming video.

At least the track has to show first across the finish line (win light), right?

  4. GMichaelPhoenix

Ahhhhhhhhhhh…..Just what time will Bangshift.com start streaming this event EST? Maybe I should just guess…

Man, Have some respect….BangShift is streaming this event to All racers for Free…..!! Support Bang Shift and there sponsers!! I personally saw the effort Chad and Brian performed at WestPalm, they were up on staging ALL day in a remote part of the strip, by themselves,,,,working for “US” and others around the world……don’t be disrespectful!! “BIG Red” has spoken.. We Love BS!!!

  6. NC Street Outlaws

Wishing everyone good luck tomorrow. Had a blast at our first event last year in North Carolina and Tennessee street outlaw shootouts. It will be an experience for all that has not witnessed such a wild and crazy event. Remember one thing guys, the fastest car does not always win in this NO track Prep racing, its all about power management. So once you Florida Top 10 cars are crowded tomorrow, get ready to face some more states on the east coast in 2014-2015….. Have FUN…….

  7. Jerry S.

Be it 1/8 -1/4 – 1000 ft or whatever the distance it is all still about the straight line. Isn’t that what’s its all about?

  8. craig b blue

~ 1/8 mile 1/4 mile – who cares – it’s all about keeping the sport of drag racing alive and in the public view! As far as no track prep….all you “pro drivers” should be up to the challenge
