Cool Bonneville Video: Three Minutes Of Mechanical Zen From The Salt

Cool Bonneville Video: Three Minutes Of Mechanical Zen From The Salt

We’re getting ready to get into Bonneville mode here and that is awesome. When you are on the salt, relaxation is not really what comes to the forefront of your mind. It is a million degrees, there are roaring engines all over the place, you are hustling course to course for photos and stories, and you are constantly worried about running out of time before the end of the day. That’s why this Bonneville video is different and really nice to watch. Made by the guys at Racepak, we get to see the scenes of the salt in a very observational, unobtrusive way. In some sense it is like seeing it as an invisible man. Peering over shoulders and around corners to see teams working on cars, to see the likes of Danny Thompson launch off the starting line, etc.

This is a nice film that we found zen-like to watch. If you need to knock the old stress level down a few pegs today this is the way to do it. You’ll not hear exceptionally loud engines, you’ll not hear screaming people, but you will see some amazing sights and about a billion reasons why you need to be on the Bonneville Salt Flats with us in 2017.
