Crunch Video: Watch An All-Steel Showpiece Chevelle Catch The Wall At Memphis – It Will Be Fixed!

Perhaps by favorite thing about being involved with as much racing stuff as I am is seeing everyone’s stuff. There’s just something cool about seeing some beautiful iron that you have not watched run before hit the track. I truly enjoy it and I bet lots of the other guys who do this stuff would say the same thing. Cars like the Chevelle you will see in this video are not common and that is why when they take a nose punch like this one does, it knocks the wind out of everybody. Sean Melton of Urban Hillbilly video caught this quick developing wreck at Memphis a couple of weeks ago and he reports in the caption on the video that the owner was already on the phone about getting it fixed, so this car will be repaired, obviously at considerable expense.

One of the things that plays out here is the reaction of the driver after the shot. A combo of adrenaline, anger, and frustration come out all at once. We can completely understand it as well. This car is spectacular and to see a hairline scratch on it would be trouble let alone this mess. If we can say one thing it is that we think it was fortunate that the car came off the wall like it did and it wasn’t a “four corner” job. Having seen more than a few wrecks where the car pinwheels down the wall crunching everything in sight, this is the best of the bad scenarios.

Those of you out there racing original steel, you have my respect for sure. Cars like this are uncommon and awesome.

Looks like it got a wrinkle in the quarter panel after the front hit the wall.

No good at all to see this – looks a great car and good to see no personal injury.

Even better to here he is already rebuilding it. Once its finished then I’m guessing he will need a NEW helmet as well. Been plenty pissed with the world at times but never enough to slam a in date simpson helmet into the ground.

Maybe if that day comes I’ll wait until I get home and get one that’s out of date and slam that FXXKER into the ground – just to see if it makes me feel better.
    ( I think not )

Is anyone else getting nervous about racing when Urban Hillbilly is present??? Seems like he gets all the action!
