(Photos by Justin Oney/1Y Automotive Photography) – Justin Oney was on Drag Week with our pal Rick Gurrero of Rick’s Tanks fame and through the week he blasted a ton of spectacular photos featuring cars on the track, in the pits, and cruising through the myriad of small towns and awesome locations. We’re going to post all of his photos, day by day starting with registration day which actually happened little more than a week ago but seems like it was light years in the past. These photos are especially cool because you will see cars here that literally didn’t live to see competition. Some like Jay Brown’s grabber blue, cammer powered Mustang and the insane looking blown Nova shown here met their end at the test session that day.

Attrition was the highest ever as was to be expected with the largest field ever. Some 30 cars didn’t survive through Monday! Justin was at the registration and tech party bright and early and these photos prove it. The fact that there was a massive showing of cars didn’t hurt the program at all, in fact some Drag Weekers stepped up to help with tech and keep things moving along. These photos are a great look at the coolest looking traffic jam you have ever seen in your life!
