(By Doug Gregory) – Only one more article left in our coverage from the last Ohio Mile at Wilmington Air Park. The third-generation GM F-body have been a fairly popular platform for land speed racing. James McEntire used the Firebird version and took his C-gas coupe to over 155mph. James Bracken pushed his massive 2015 Indian to more than 135mph and it was looking mighty fine while doing it. The Lazy Mutt Racing, Mercedes diesel-powered S10 helmed by Dan Stokes chugged along to nearly 130mph. The AA Fuel Lakester piloted by Bob Jinkens blasted 201mph backed by power from an injected and alcoholic big-block. The 1985 Harley-Davidson fielded by Speaker Built Engines topped 154mph and is a very, very cleanly-built ride. Quite nice. Enjoy.

You would expect that a car like the AA/FL dragster could hit 201mph on the 1/4 mile alone. That seems slow for a mile run. Air resistance?
