We’ve managed to obtain in-car footage of the accident that took out a Dart and a Chevelle at the 2015 March Meet. Riding along with Will Matsch inside the Dart, you can see Dave Jones’ Chevy aim straight for the sky and come down hard. Jones pedaled the Chevelle some and the car got loose, crossing the center lane and collecting up the Dart. We understand that both drivers were fine after the accident. It’s not what anybody wants to see, but we’re glad to know that the safety equipment did it’s job and we hope that repairs can be made so that they can come back out this weekend.
Damn! That’s messed up.
Looks like the chevelle’s suspension was a little on the soft side, sucks for both guys.
Noooo, two vintage iron lost , yeah , I know it`s racing but…
another jerk that likes to fly in the air w/out wheelie bars. when will these guys learn.
No cage in the dart? Why? Old schools great until you get hurt.
You’re point’s valid but then if he feared death he probably wouldn’t be racing.
obviously the dart doesnt run fast enough to need a full cage.
Its his choice, he doesnt need someone telling him whats safe enough for himself other than himself. Its what we call independence.
I know it wont happen, but the guy in the Chevelle should sell the rest of the pile, and use the money to fix the Dart!
I know the guy in Chevelle and he certainly has the means to repair or replace both cars. I have been told that is what he is going to do for the owner of the Dart 🙂
Did the Chevelle go through a full tech inspection? I know we all sign wavers that limit us to any law suits, but I feel everyone should carry insurance to pay for damages to the others involved.
Nearly all insurance providers exclude coverage on the track. Any seasoned racer knows that and accepts the risks. Stuff happens, that is a part of racing and if you don’t expect that accidents can and do happen, then perhaps another hobby is better suited for you.
