Extreme Outlaw Pro Mods Invade Virginia – Wheels Up And Tire Smoking ‘Slammer Action Here

(Words and photos by Benoit Pigeon) – The Extreme Outlaw Pro Modified  was back at VMP in Dinwiddie for it’s second event of the year during the Super Chevy event on May 16-17. A total of seventeen cars showed up including five blown  entries.

In the end it was all Chevy for the finals with Jay Cox orange 1969 Camaro versus Travis Harvey’s 2013 Camaro. Cox had the most stout performances in the field all weekend. That last blast was a strong run for Cox with a 3.759 eighth mile elapsed time but for whatever reason, a rough reaction time gave the win to Harvey.  The Carolina Kid had his own problems and managed only a 4.084 to turn on the win light. For Harvey who lost his ride at the end of 2014, the 2015 season has been pretty good so far since Boone Racing offered him a new driver position for the remainder of the year and after winning already two Big Dogs at Piedmont in NC at an other series.

I was planning on attending the event but was in bed sick that weekend. Galot sure has some nice cars! Can’t wait for their track to open!
