Really, most REAL Racer’s when confronted with “NO more racing, or only
1/8 mile racing” don’t have a problem with it. We all would prefer 1/4 mile, but when it’s get busy bitchin or get busy Racin,
We’re Racer’s. If mid 3’s at over 200 mph isn’t fast enough, you probably need to start building Rocket’s. C-Ya @ the Track.

That dude has probably never seen one of these races….and it’s a rush to run in, that is for sure. I’ll be there, running my car in X. Can’t wait!

BEEN WATCHING FOR 50 YEARS HERE IN FLORIDA JUST SAW 3 WEEKENDS FULL 1/4 MILE RACING JAGS ,STEVEN WHITELY. BOB RAHAIM ,J GRAY MANY MORE . THATS RACING I HEARD ABOUT 1/8 MILE RACING IN THE 80S THOUGH THEY WERE JOKEING ALL I CAN SAY RACING STARTED WITH 1/4 MILE AND SHOULD STAY TRUE TO IT. MAY BE THERE SHOULD BE A DAYTONA 200 OR 1/2 HOUR OF SEABRING ,INDY 125 HOW ABOUT 1 HOUR LE MANS AFTER ALL THE CARS GOT FASTER THEN 50 YEARS AGO .THAT IS WHAT THE 1/8 PEOPLE SAY THE CARS ARE JUST TO FAST AND SCARIE FOR THEM OR COST TO MUCH .I/4 MILE IS TRUE RACING 1/8 MILE IS JUST A BURNOUT

AND NHRA SHOULD GO BACK TO 1/4 MILE . I WAS TALKING TO DON GARLITS HE TOLD ME HE THINKS THAT 1000 FT RACING IS HURTING THE SPORT. ALL THE OTHER CARS RUN 1/4 . IHRA FUEL CARS RUN 1/4. BACK TO 1000 FT IF THE 1/8 MILE RACE WENT TO 1000 FT YOU WOULD GET A LOT MORE FANS GOING TO THE RACE .WE NEED MORE FANS TO KEEP OUR SPORT ALIVE AND BRING IN MORE MONEY TO KEEP THE TRACKS OPEN .WHEN WE HAVE 1/8 MILE RACES HERE THE GRANDSTAND HAS JUST A FEW PEOPLE .A 1/4 MILE RACE ALLWAYS HAS LOTS OF FANS . EVEN ON BANGSHIFT 1/8 MILE RACES MOST THE TIME THE STANDS ARE EMPTY

Gary, I understand and wish the Nitro cars could still run 1/4, the issue is the Cars have gotten so much faster with the same amount of shutdown area as 50 years ago at the older tracks. Problem is that most of the Historical tracks that NHRA runs at don’t have the room to expand (with all the growth around them) to let the cars more room to slow.. So, cant have half the season 1320 and the rest 1000ft. IHRA Nitro cars don’t run as quick as the NHRA cars do either. Just my .02c

Last radial 1/8 mile even probably had more people watchin on live stream than nhra had watching there boring races on tv…..the even sold out and they started turning people away…..donno what u mean by they dont have fans who watch it

I’m with the 1/4 mile crowd. Never liked the long burn out races and that still stands. Always many who get down wright pissed when someone questions the little short races. For me it’s not real drag racing unless it’s 1320 feet.
