Some Guys In Sweden Are Plugging A 2-Stroke V8 Into A Volvo Amazon – Teaser Video Here!

Some Guys In Sweden Are Plugging A 2-Stroke V8 Into A Volvo Amazon – Teaser Video Here!

Wow, so we guess this whole “stick a two stroke V8 in it” madness is becoming a thing! We got tipped off to the quick video below by Moroso’s Scott Hall who was obviously inspired to go YouTube searching after seeing our video of the Evinrude two stroke V8 powered sand rail the other day. This car is actually cooler in the fact that it is a tube framed drag machine that is being built and while it will be heavier than the sand rail it looks like there has been more hot rodding done to the engine. The exhaust looks absolutely demonic in the way that it comes off of the engine and like the sand rail, we’re sure that the little Volvo will be louder than all get out.

It looks like this project has been ongoing for a while and there are a few videos on the guy’s YouTube page and show different parts and pieces of it coming together but this teaser is the first one where we actually see the car and what it is all about. While this thing may not become the fastest rig at the strip we’re pretty sure that it will be the most unique and the most likely to raise the dead when it is running down the track.

We’re going to try and dig up more details on the combo like what transmission they plan on using and what they expect to get out of the motor for horsepower, etc. We love freaks, no matter what country they are in and this project certainly qualifies for full-on bizarro world status!

Thanks again Scott!

  1. Jet Truck

This engine will make some serious horsepower! As everyone knows, two strokes make all their horsepower with the exhaust pipes. The Sand Rail shown the other day with a megaphone style exhaust will make horsepower but nothing compared to what expression chambers will! That’s going to be one awesome machine!

I keep wondering how legal these things would be in a Gas class at Bonneville (or other LSR) with the oil in the fuel requirements? Considering that the only 2-stroke production cars I can think of in the modern era are Saabs and the SCTA-BNI definitely has a slant towards domestic, I’m betting it wouldn’t be legal in a Gas class.

    Comments anyone?
