Happy 3/10! Yes, We Have Cool 310ci Engines To Show You – Some Factory Built!

What, did you really think that we were just going to wait for the low hanging fruit of obvious days to do these engine items? Wrong, bucko! While there have not been all that many 310ci engines produced as original, there sure as hell has been a ton of them made by hot rodders and rebuilders over the years with a little tweak of the bore size from smaller engines that they were working with. There are a couple of those in here but the real star of the show is right on top.

The first video shows a 1928 vintage Harry Miller designed and (originally) built dual overhead camshaft straight eight engine. Designed to be used in a boat at the time it measures out to 310ci, makes 270hp, and makes about 330 lb-ft of torque. All of that is happening in the 3,500 RPM range. Miller was so ahead of his time it is amazing. There are elements of engines that he developed which are still being used toady in cutting edge applications.

The engine below the miller is an Oliver 1750 diesel that is also a 310ci displacement mill. While certainly not as glamorous as the Miller, it was a hard working tractor engine that people still rely on today. It sounds pretty good running without an exhaust manifold as well! The other two videos feature a blown 310ci small block Chevy and a really pissed off 310ci, stick shifted drag racing Mustang. Both of those are winners in our book as well.

So there you have it. Now tell all of your friends that they missed 3/10 because the were too busy thinking about Y-blocks.

Watch below to see some cool and very different 310ci engines at work!
