Hilarious: Watch This Aussie Drag Racing Fan Experience Top Fuel For The First Time – Video

There’s nothing like seeing a top fuel car in person for the first time as the Aussie drag racing fan in the videos below found out. In 2015 NHRA ran a program called #BaptsimbyNitro and what they wanted people to do was send in videos of new fans experiencing nitro for the first time. The program as a great success because the reactions are so fun to watch. All that being said, we never saw a video with the level of physical freak out exhibited by this Australian fan at Sydney Dragway last weekend. Derek Conroy, the Motorsport Manager at Sydney Dragway sent us these videos and frankly we love them.

Even as a guy who sees top fuel cars with regularity, they can still sneak up on you. Glance away from the tree for a second as the drivers are staging and you’ll jump if you don’t know exactly when the wall of terrifying noise will hit you. People that has NO reference point are the best to watch. Being that there’s nothing else on planet Earth that feels, sounds, or smells like one of these babies, it is a unique experience in an unto drag racing. It is an international language, though. You’ll note that the cackle sounds as good down there as it does up here, right?
Thanks to Derek and thanks to the unwitting fan that may have soiled his pants multiple times. Welcome to the sport of drag racing!

Yes I did that to a few friends in high school and it was funny every time! The best part is they are flapping their gums at you and not paying attention then bam they start up the car. Priceless!

Never gets old. Did this with a group of overly macho tower climbers years ago. I was the only one who had hearing protection, despite my warnings. They called me pushy right up to the point the governors came off and the first pair ripped past. One of them leaned over to me and quietly asked where he could get some hearing protection, after he picked himself up. I warned them.
