Kris Krabill Parts Ways With Austin & O’Brien Racing Team – Runner Up Car At March Meet Driverless

Kris Krabill Parts Ways With Austin & O’Brien Racing Team – Runner Up Car At March Meet Driverless

After a successful but ultimately fiery 2017 Good Vibrations March Meet driver Kris Krabill has announced his departure from the Austin & O’Brien Racing Team. The guys made the rain delayed Monday final round and lost to Ryan Hodgson. Krabill’s run was the more memorable of the two as his car erupted into flames and he had to drag the thing down to a stop in the middle of what had to have been the worst blaze of his career.

We do not know the details of the separation but we do know from the release below that they are going in different directions. We’re working on a follow up for more information but until then, here’s the release.

It is not a shocking thing to see a driver and team part ways but the timing of this one is a bit weird after such a strong event at Famoso.

Maybe driving a clearly sour engine way to long resulting in a massive fire gets you released as a driver?

I agree on the body. Even a Tempo or Achieva body would look more like a 70’s funny car. If I had my way these things would need to be period correct even if that means clearance under the rocker sills and long wheel openings.
I’d make ’em run 66 Comets with Logghe chassis.

I heard, from a little bird, that the fire bottles failed…would make me think twice about getting into someone’s car.

Ya, you kinda know that when you drive for a hot head like Bucky, and an ego that knocks holes in the ceilings, that he is impossible to work for or drive for. Krabill has balls of steel, and his record proves it. Wonder if Bucky would have shut off in the finals huh? Now he can have a rookie drive for him again. PS. Krabill DID pull the fire bottles, and they did not work. That is his problem? WTF? I wish that Bucky team luck. Too bad to lose a world champion driver over something so friggin stupid. Shame on them.
