Large Barge: This 1959 Ford Wagon Has A Twin Turbo 557ci Big Block Ford And Big Meats Out Back

Well this thing is really something. If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to own something big and bad, you may want to take care of that a little early and get your fists on this 1959 Ford wagon that is packing a twin turbocharged 557ci Ford big block. The engine is fuel injected and by the sounds of the parts list, this is a pretty neat car. 3.25 geared Ford 9″ axle, built to the hilt C6 automatic transmission, Accuair suspension, and a whole bunch more are the bones that make up this yellow beast.

The color does not lend itself to subtly and that’s OK with us because if you are going to own something like this, you are going to need the personality to back it up. The interior is a mix of stock stuff and aftermarket/custom made pieces. We’d probably do something with the inside of the car not because it is overtly horrible but because it does not really fit our taste.

We’re actively trying to recall when the last time we saw a 1959 Ford wagon was and we’re not sure we ever have. The seller calls this car a Fairlane but it is not. It is either a Country Sedan or a Country Squire depending on what the customer was willing to fork over for cash. Nearly 100,000 four door wagons were built in 1959 but they’re in limited supply when it comes to the hot rodding world!

I have never seen a ’59 Ford of any kind save a T Bird – so for my first one to be such a seductive monster has made my festering season!

Thank you BangShift for sharing this with me and ensuring it is LS free….

Well Lohnes, it’s not a County Sedan or a Country Squire. It’s a Ranch Wagon. 59 was the only year you could get a 2 door or a 4 door Ranch Wagon. Hang in there & we’ll get you schooled on these Ford cars yet.

This car is perfect in every way except the color. A nice medium green with wood sides would set this thing off. Yellow does it no justice.
    Just my 2 cents.
