Nitrous vs Blown pro mod action featuring two of the quickest door-slammin’ ladies on the planet, Lizzy Musi and Melani Salemi. The video was made recently at Maryland International Raceway and it shows the nitrous car of Musi (daughter of the legendary Pat Musi) making the quickest pro nitrous legal pass ever at 3.63-seconds. In the other lane the talented New York based racer Melanie Salemi (wife of Jon Salemi the noted pro mod and small tire crew chief and tuner) wheels her blown Strange Engineering pro mod to a really thunderous 3.74-second elapsed time.

The best part about this run is seeing how clean it is for both cars. They use those big rear slicks perfectly, building some wheel speed on the hit of the throttle and carrying the front end a long way down the track. The low gear to second gear change is made perfectly by both drivers without any shake or wiggle and the announcer goes nuts. This is the type of stuff that gets your blood pumping, for sure.

Pro Mod racing has not gotten any easier over the years. Whether you are doing it with nitrous, a blower, or turbos the cars are more advanced now, they made loads more power, and even the drivers themselves have become more attuned to hammering the tree  and gaining any advantage that they can.

When two pro mods run cleanly down the track side by side you can’t do anything more than admire their violence and power. This is cool.
