(Photos by Bob Chiluk and Greg Rourke) – Our week of Meltdown Drags 2014 coverage continues with more photos from the pit scene at Byron Dragway in Illinois. We know of people who took a full two weeks away from their jobs to hit the road, cruise to Byron, hang for a few days and then hit a track or two on the way home with their vintage drag car. That’s our kind of vacation. A drag racing road trip? Hell yes!

Anyway, in this gallery, Greg and Bob take us back into the pits at Byron to get a closer look at some of the cool cars we have showed you pulling the tires, smoking the hides, and hauling down the quarter mile.
