We have to thank ace BangShift photo contributor Benoit Pigeon for tipping us off to this cool music video for the song Summer by the artist Calvin Harris. While we’re not much for the tune itself (but it is kind of catchy) the video features a ton of sportsman drag cars from dragsters to classic trucks and muscle cars fighting it out on a desert highway. There are altered and stuff, too. The video is very well shot and it doesn’t hurt that there is some pretty stunning female “talent” involved as well, but seeing the cars actuallhy getting after it in the desert on a highway is neat.
We think this may be the first time we have ever seen a sportsman dragster show up in the music video and that’s something in itself. While you cannot hear roaring engines, you will see some legit action as there are camera angles from outside and inside the cars that prove the drivers are actually hammering the gas and not just posing for the camera. Of car related music videos, Metallica’s Fuel may be the gold standard and this one (song excluded) is right there on the entertainment scale. The car stuff starts happening about 1:00 in so you can fast forward if you want but if you are a red-blooded male, you may want to see the uhhhh….intro as well. Just sayin’.

I know what ya mean. I know know why anyone want’s to mess up their body like that. I’m not crazy about seeing them on men. On women they’re intolerable.
I agree with you Cudadan, and 440 pac, tattoos on what would be a beautiful women turn me off as well. Unfortunately, my 21 year old niece put some of that crap on her body.

Bob Woodruff had a video of his song, Almost Saturday Night, that had bracket racing in it. The video has disappeared. I haven’t been able to find it. It was and awesome video.

It was a fun experience. I will tell you we did not go over 65 MPH as set forth by the CHP 😉 The camera car that did the action shoots was a Porsche Cayenne with a really cool camera boom on the top. We maintained approximately 90MPH while he maneuvered back and forth shooting the front sides and rear, and REALLY close! The shot of the El Senior Rocketeer going away from the fixed camera? Lets just say that was real fun and fast! What was amazing to me is that Cayenne had an 800lb boom on it with 4 or 5 guys in it and it would be next to me and then shoot ahead seemingly with no effort. It was impressive.
The guys in the Fury and Duster really got after it and therefore got a lot of well deserved film time. It was a fun day. The rest of the video well, I’ll take the action shots anyday!

I came home afterward and listened to 5 hours straight of “Its a Small World” and still couldn’t get it out of my head. Had to listen to 12 hours straight of it while they were shooting. Ugh
