(Photos by David Whealon) – The NHRA’s “southern swing” has come to a close and the second of the three stop series of races at zMax Dragway was awesome. There is really something stunning about not only seeing but hearing and feeling four fuel cars leaving the starting line at the same time. There’s a wall of thunder and hell you really cannot describe, even to hardcore and longtime fans.

David Whealon was on the grounds that weekend and he blasted photos like a champion for the entire event. This collection is a neat mixed bag of images that celebrate the people, the action, and some of the crazy moments that people remembered from the weekend. Courtney Force’s wall banger is captured here from a unique angle high above the strip.
