The Pilgrimage Is Coming: NHRA New England Nationals X275 Shootout Is Next Week – The Mod Father Joins The Fray!

After a successful Friday of fun in Houston with Shannon Morgan’s Redemption No Prep racers, the NHRA is back at it next week in Epping, New Hampshire during the New England Nationals at New England Dragway. This time it is going to be an awesome X275 shootout featuring a team of cars from “home” and a team of cars from outside the region that’ll lock horns and do battle for the first time in the history of the NHRA.

There was a slight lineup change recently as Ronnie “The Mod Father” Diaz will now be competing as Alex Hayes could not make the race due twosome personal issues. Diaz is the team alternate for the visiting squad from outside the region. If you love small tire racing, if you love x275, and if you love seeing this type of stuff for the first time in the history of the NHRA, you better be at New England Dragway next week!

Well, a little while back we told you that the NHRA had gotten together with the NE X275 group to set up a Friday NHRA New England Nationals X275 shootout and we now have some more details on that. For starters we told you that the event will be setup in a cool team format with notable New England based X275 racers taking on a team of competitors who hail from outside of the region. Let’s just say that this is going to be awesome because the names on both sides of the list will be looking to either claim victory or defend their home turf tooth and nail!

Competing on team New England X275 will be:

Mark Dykeman in his leaf sprung, ProCharged  “Blue Goose” Camaro

The potent MacDonald/Gonzalez turbocharged 4th gen Camaro

Robert Baptista in his ProCharger equipped Camaro

Tommy Depriest in his big block powered Mustang

and the team alternate is:

New England small tire drag racing legend Manny Buginga

Competing for the marauding band of invaders will be:

“Mean Dean” Marinis in his famed orange Mustang

Kevin Fiscus driving the Chris Matters owns Saleen Mustang

Brenden Mills in his turbocharged small block Ford Mustang

The Bruder Brothers in their awesome 8-71 blown, small block Ford  Fox-body Mustang

and the team alternate is:

Ronnie “The Mod Father” Diaz in his turbocharged Modular Ford powered Mustang

So the event will be held on Friday of the 2017 New England Nationals with a test hit being granted to the racers in the morning and then a couple rounds of eliminations worked in throughout the day. All of the racers are excited and the NE X275 group has really embraced the idea and taken it to the next level by giving this thing its own identity and a really great hook.

We can’t wait!

Here’s the flyer for the event and the information’s all there –
