NMCA/NMRA Super Bowl Of Street Legal Drag Racing July 28-31, Joliet – We’ll Be There and You SHOULD BE TOO!

(Photo credit: Charles Wickam) – It is a door slammer throw down unlike any other. It is days on end of drag racing nirvana. It is the NMCA/NMRA Super Bowl of Street Legal Drag Racing and it is coming July 28-31 at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Illinois. This is an event that is not to be missed and somehow the NMCA and NMRA officials have actually cranked the knob up even higher on the awesome scale for this one. How?

First they have added the Factory Super Car class which will draw the finest Cobra Jets, COPO Camaros, and Drag Pack Challengers in the country. Second, they have added NMCA pro stock which is all about small blocks, any body style a racer wants, and manual transmissions. Third, the revised VP Racing Fuel Xtreme Pro Mod category has been crushing it this year and we’d not be shocked see a couple dozen of the crazy bastards on the property. Fourth, the FAST (Factory Appearing Stock Tire) class will be there and rumor has it they are bringing some 60 cars to do battle with. It’ll be one of the biggest FAST races in history. Then there’s the stuff that you already know and love which will be there. Edelbrock Street Outlaw, Mickey Thompson Radial Wars, Nitrous Pro Street, and the list goes on and on.

As if you needed another excuse, there’s the actual Super Bowl event itself which happens on Sunday afternoon. This is where the NMRA and NMCA class winners square off against each other in a unique format to determine a team winner. NMRA has owned this thing for years but the NMCA is back with its strongest contingent ever and they are looking to stop the NMRA streak in its tracks, win the coveted rings, and earn the ability to talk trash on NMRA racers for a year.

This is the BIG ONE and we’re going to be there. Missing this event is missing one of the true drag racing gems in the country for the 2016 season. The NMRA and NMCA organizations have been having banner years through the early part of the summer. They are both going to unload on each other in Joliet. Don’t miss it!
