Ooga Booga Intake and Carbs: This CFE Sheet Metal Intake Manifold Plumbed For Nitrous and Topped With Split Dominators Rules

A little while back Chad posted a story about how tunnel rams were good for America and that everyone out there should own one. While I cannot assail his logic on that front I can say that while cast aluminum tunnel rams are cool and put some pretty serious horsepower making capability in the hands of everyday people, sheetmetal intakes are way cooler, especially those with nitro plumbed into them and topped with split Holley Dominator carbs. Sure, this full yoga boogie intake may be the 1% of intake manifolds but every one of us would like to have a reason to need it, right?

If you are a drag racer, a puller, or a mud bogger this piece would be of interest to you. There’s really nowhere else that you’d want it or that it would be an ideal solution. Sure it would look boss on top of a massive street engine but we’re not sure how practical it would be for street driving. Those massive Dominators aren’t exactly known nor are they likely tuned for their street manners. Nope, this thing is designed to gulp air and enhance it with loads of nitrous while it is passing through its humongous runners and plenum.

To us, the neatest thing on this particular manifold is the quality of the welding and not just the CFE “factory” welding but the work done around the nitrous bungs that are on both the exterior of the runners AND the interior. Yes, this is a three stage setup and it was designed/engineered by the well respected Jeff Prock (who is from “that” Prock family. The same one that NHRA crew chief Jimmy is from).

So how much will this pile of awesome cost you? Just shy of $6,000 gets you the intake, the linkage, the carbs, and the nitrous stuff. We’re thinking that this is a sweet deal for anyone building a big inch rat motor for one of the racing venues we mentioned above. Or the top of your coffee table as a conversation piece. You make the call on that one.

Man, that thing would make a great door stop in the cave along with the notorious 40k T-10 on a pedestal, and my ’66 Hemi 3spd Coronet 4dr coffee table!

I split my Holley on my neighbor’s band saw. Thought it turned out good till I noticed I now have four float bowls and some big fuel leaks!
