Remember The Sand Dragging Paddle Tire Fox Mustang? Turns Out That Thing Is An Asphalt Killer As Well!

Remember The Sand Dragging Paddle Tire Fox Mustang? Turns Out That Thing Is An Asphalt Killer As Well!

Last December we ran some video of a Fox-bodied Mustang down in Puerto Rico running at the sand drags with huge paddle tires under it. The car really made some steam and looked like something out of a Mad Max movie with those mondo scoopers on the back. At the time, we wondered if the guy just ran the sand of he also hit the asphalt drag strip with it. Our questions were answered recently when car owner Freddie Barreto sent us some video of the machine pulling big wheelies and streaking down an eighth mile drag strip on the island of Puerto Rico. The car runs into the five second zone and it leaves with the wheels up more than once in this video.

We like the car because the stance s really neat and there aren’t that many people out there running both the asphalt and sand drags with a flippin’ back-halved Fox-Mustang…at least that we know of. I guess the major question for debate at this point is whether the car looks cooler with the paddle tires or with the big drag racing meats on it. To see the car in action at the dirt drags CLICK HERE

The engine in the car is a big block Chevy on plenty of nitrous and it makes real horsepower as you will see. This is not Freddie’s only car as he has a really serious turbocharged tube chassis Mustang that races both eighth and quarter mile on the island. It should be noted that the Fox also hits tracks of the quarter mile variety and if they had a standing mile Freddie would probably race that too, just to cover all of his bases.
