Ride On The Helmet Of Tony Pedregon As He Makes A Rip In Cruz’s Snap-On Funny Car

Ride On The Helmet Of Tony Pedregon As He Makes A Rip In Cruz’s Snap-On Funny Car

If you are Cruz Pedregon and your team is making test laps but you have to leave town to handle some business there can’t be much hesitation on who to call. Tony Pedregon got the nod to make some test laps in the Snap-On Toyota the other day and as you will see in this video, things definitely seemed to be working in the way the crew wanted them to on this early shut off 3.97-second run.

If you follow NHRA drag racing you know that Cruz and Aaron Brooks have been nibbled to death by guppies during the early part of the 2017 season. By that we mean that a bunch of weird and strange little problems have hampered their efforts. Rumor has it that they are also working with a cool new clutch setup as well and once they get a handle on that, look out. All that stuff aside, this run seems like a winner, at least from where we’re sitting.

We love watching the steering inputs that Tony hammers into the car. There’s nothing subtle about it. The little carbon fiber butterfly is moving about as much as possible in both directions to keep the car in the groove and heading down the track. The amount of clutch dust in the cockpit is pretty awesome as well.

So if you have wondered what it is like to wrestle 11,000hp….here’s your education!

Probably keeping his license requirements up. Tony still has it and should return to the track. We miss you out there.
