Spring Fling Galot: Our Final Load Of Drag Racing Action Photos From The Big Buck Bash!

(Photos by David Whealon) – When bracket racing exploded in popularity in the 1970s as an answer to the escalating costs of heads up class racing no one could have foreseen the sport as it is now. The level of acumen, technology, and cash available is well beyond what people in the 1970s could have conceived of. Races where people can win hundreds of thousands of dollars in a day? Races where people can win tens of thousands of dollars over a weekend? And this happens with frequency? People who make their living as sportsman drag racers? All true and all happening on a very regular basis in the world these days. Amazing.

As we talked about yesterday the huge popularity of the Spring Fling races put on by Kyle Seipel, Peter Biondo and a dedicated staff of workers are nothing short of sportsman racing shangri-la. They are designed to give racers the maximum amount of opportunities to win stuff, the maximum amount of track time, and the maximum amount of fun. Two racers who love the sport saw areas for improvement and they have been amazingly successful and meeting the needs of their customers and expanding their model across the country.

These David Whealon photos show you many of the cars that were competing at GALOT Motorsports Park recently and they range from the typical rear engine dragsters to wheel standing door slammers that are fun looking pieces!
