(Photos by Joe Grippo) – A few weeks ago, the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series was in full swing at Maple Grove Raceway in Pennsylvania. The heavy hitters of Division One were out in force to hammer on each other in some of the finest sportsman drag racing this side of the moon. Our own man Joe Grippo was on the scene as well shooting a ton of great photos and he went above and beyond by moving them into different categories so we could showcase them separately. In this case we’re talking about Super Stock which happens to be one of our all time favorite racing categories.

Why? These big tire cars often pull massive wheelies and represent some of the most fun auditory greatness that drag racing provides. From 10,000 RPM engines like that in Scott Gove’s Super Stock A/Modified Dodge Daytona to the thundering madness of the Super Stock A/Hemi category we love them all. Let’s not forget the late model supercharged cars with their own brand of music as well.
