You know when a guy has recently been cranking on an engine build and especially when he assembled the pistons and rods. That part of the program is easy to spot because the guy will be treating the ends of his fingers like they just got sent through a paper shredder. While we all love the jobs that Circlips do, their installation can be a real pain in the backside.
The time tested screwdriver method will work but you’ll see that there are far better options and ones that won’t scar or score a fresh piston! Having the right tools for the job and experience in using them is what will make you an all-star.
