There have been lots of videos posted over the last couple years giving hot rodders information on how to make a Dodge Challenger Hellcat really roar but the simplest way is always the same. Nitrous! In this video posted by the team at Nitrous Outlet we see a pretty evil looking (and sounding) black Hellcat making a pull as it sits from the factory and then another while equipped with a Nitrous Outlet plate system spraying the engine with a 100 shot.
The nitrous is of course aiding in allowing the engine to burn more fuel and make more power but it is also working as kind of an intercooler, drastically lowering intake air temps which is a big factor in a naturally aspirated car and a huge advantage in a car with a blower that is really heating the air as it is shoving the stuff into the engine.
The improvements gained by adding the plate system (which is not a hard install) are pretty amazing. From a first pull of 676hp and 641 lb/ft to a final rip of basically 820hp and 894 lb/ft this car went from being a monster to being 100% completely evil. We’d love to see what the car would run after the spray because the gains are so exponential on the dyno. The torque increase is the most impressive part for us to look at.
This thing sounds amazing and the best part is that you can get creative and hide stuff with a plate system such as this one. If you really wanted to be a ninja on the streets without anyone knowing some creative plumbing and wiring would have you there!
