The Story Of The Aussie Drag Week Chevelle! Twin Turbos Hanging Out In The Breeze And 8-Second Slips!

The Aussie Drag Week Chevelle came onto the scene in 2015 as one of the most amazing stories of the event. A couple of guys from Australia came to the US, bought the crummiest looking Chevelle in the world, got it to run, and then completed the event flogging the (remaining) crap out of the car. They might have thad the most fun out of anyone on the planet that week. The boys promised something spectacular as their follow up act and to be honest they topped even the loftiest of expectations we had for them.

You have had to have seen the photos of this car floating around the internet from the moment it was first seen in public, the turbochargers sitting straight above the hood like nothing anyone had ever seen on public roads before. You cannot help but to stare at this car. The look is so weird and shocking that it forces you to look. But perhaps that is the best part. This is not just an exercise in looks. This is an engine that makes like 1,300hp and engine that twisted the torque needled into the four digit zone. This is an engine that propelled the car to elapsed times in the 8.70s!

The machine was back halved, caged, and gone through like you would want it to be but the exterior was untouched. The result was a Chevelle on 275 radials that launched straight an when it hooked up, pulled like a nuclear powered freight train.

Harry Haig and his henchmen were loving life in 2016 just about as hard as the did in 2015 but they were doing it in much faster fashion. Sure the street drives were a little rough with an obstructed view of the world things had to have been mildly frustrating but they did it and finished strong.
