This Turbocharged, Four Wheel Drive Chevy Silverado Claws The Strip At LVMS!

This Turbocharged, Four Wheel Drive Chevy Silverado Claws The Strip At LVMS!

One of the most wicked drag race setups I know of is the Miss Misery, the screw-blown, all-wheel-driven monster of a square-body Chevy that looked as mental as all get-out. Filled to the brim of trick parts from SCS to keep all four wheels turnin’ and burnin’, Miss Misery is an extreme case of what can happen when you bring all four wheels on-line instead of hoping two tires is enough.

The problem with Miss Misery is that with 2,500+ horsepower, having four wheels turning can be as much a liability as it is a benefit. Torque steer is a very real thing and while many claim hot-rodded 1980s Chrysler turbo cars are the pinnacle of finger-breaking torque steer, we bet that the Chevy’s wheel-jerking tendencies are ten times worse. But you can’t deny the benefits of letting all four wheels do the work, and this turbocharged four-wheel-drive Chevy that was at LS Fest West proves that it works. It’s “only” packing 1,100 horsepower and actually seems plenty streetable, but on launch the back squats and the Chevy gets hustling. I’d go into details on how this would be an amazing setup and how we’d love to make this happens, but my wife is protective of her Silverado SS, so instead of figuring out how to turbocharge it without her knowing, we’ll just watch this thing launch over and over.
