Ok, now this looks like fun! We were looking for something cool and different for this week’s American Powertrain Parting Shift. Not that this is the first, only, or best stick shift Crown Vic in the world but it is pretty awesome. To be more specific this Turbocharged, Stick-Shifted Crown Vic is running a 2-valve 4.6L overhead cam modular engine at 8psi on its initial test drive.
The car sounds awesome and as you will see, it runs great as well. As production ended a couple of years ago with these cars, they can be had for a song. More and more of them are being retired from municipal and police fleets and will be for years to come, driving the prices lower and lower. At this point and going forward, hot rodders will be fighting the taxi companies for these Panther platform cars.
There are a couple of videos that show this particular car being built. It is pretty clean and outside of the obvious performance, we love the sound. The idle is pretty lopey but the good noise it makes when the driver finally gets on the gas is our favorite. There are more and more companies, granted niche companies, making specialty parts for these cars whether we’re talking about pedal sets, turbo kits, or other components to help Crown Vics and Grand Marquis get out of their own way.
Hot rodding is about taking the cheap, available thing and making it haul ass, right? Well these cars are all of that and some more. You don’t have to like this one but you’d be wrong.

I\’d very much like to modify my CV for a manual tyranny + the turbo! Can you provide specs, and any/all mods?? I would greatly appreciate it!!! BTW, She sounds great!! WELL DONE ON YOURSELF!!
