Vintage NHRA Winternationals Video: Pro Stocks, Stockers, Altereds, and More From The Early 1970s

The NHRA Winternationals are approaching at a rapid pace and because of that we’re digging up all kinds of fun old video to highlight the past of this awesome race. We found this video that shows some really neat cars that were competing at the race in what looks to be the early 1970s. There’s a load of killer pro stocks in here, super stockers, some altereds, at least one funny car, and gassers galore. It seems like someone just parked themselves at the scales all day and blasted photos by the looks of it.

It was February of 1961 when the NHRA had their first Winternationals. That’s more than half a century of racing tradition and we’re excited to see all of the new season story lines develop, we’re excited to see how new crews and crew chiefs work together and were excited to see new cars, new bodies, and la of that good stuff as well.

This video will bring you back to some good days in the history of this grad drag racing tradition and we think that you will thoroughly enjoy looking through the spyglass of time.
