Sometimes accuracy is overrated. History tells us that a 1967 Chevelle wasn’t much of a contender in the gasser era but it matters not when you look at a car like this and see how flipping cool it is. With an amazing red, white, and blue paint job, a really pissed off 565ci rat motor under the flip nose, and a Jerico four speed, this thing runs 5.50s in the eighth mile (that’s 8.70s in the quarter) and looks like few things that we have ever seen.

There are the neatniks who would get out their poison pens and make notes on things that are not true to historic form and maybe cast aspersions at the car because it isn’t exactly as they would have done it but those guys can take their pens and pads and shove ’em. This thing is bitchin’ and really well done. Corners were not cut in the construction of this car. Also, someone had a vision and it was followed from their brain to reality and we’re guessing that it turned out exactly as they had hoped.

The images really tell the story but we’ll give you some stats on this baby. As mentioned, power comes from a 565i big block Chevy that is topped with a awesome Ridge Runner tunnel ram. Massachusetts racer Ralph Ridgeway is the guy behind this intake and it was one of the earlier mass produced tunnel rams you could buy. Not many of them are left today. Brodix heads, Quick Fuel Carbs, and 14.5:1 compression mean that this engine makes some real  thunder out of those blue coated headers.

This would be one hell of a ride. Sitting inside the the car is a bit of a study in contrast. There’s basically nothing in there. You have a cage, a couple of gauges, and then there’s the modern shifter coming out of the floor to handle the Jerico. This car rules.

I`m thinking a 8.70 pass in the 1/4 might require some unique driving skills considering the aerodynamics and suspension…just thinkin.

Unfortunately it didn’t meet reserve @ $52K. A 565ci BBC might be a little overkill for a gasser though. I do like the stance.
