Hub City Dragway in Hattiesburg, Mississippi is always one of the hot “late winter” tracks as far as news and videos go. Their Fat Tuesday no prep race has turned into quite the shindig over the years and we’d like to see it in person at some point. Why? Because of the action you are about to see here, that’s why.
You have the Bird Boyz Ford Probe here taking on Kayla Morton in her Mustang. They are both in the big tire class where the payout is $7,500. That’s if you win the event of course. There was not $7,500 riding on this pass alone. So unlike the grudge pass we showed you the other day there is no arguing and fighting before the run here. The cars stage, the drivers take off, and this becomes a steering, pedaling, and nearly lane changing battle with the two cars completely unsettled all the way down the track.
Again, here’s a reason people dig this sort of stuff. No one crashed, there was plenty of drama and if you think what will happen with the next pair, I have a piece of advice, “Don’t”. The next two could have gone down like they were on rails. The chassis tuning and fine tuning done in this style of racing is pretty amazing. Small changes make big differences!
We’d love to see the data recorders from this run because the throttle action must be insane. Bottom line is that the fans got a show and someone got a win light, on the track.
