Watch Chris Juliano’s Bad Ride From NHRA Norwalk – More Pro Mod Craziness

The J&A Service Company pro mod class has provided some of the most exciting, chilling, and downright crazy action of the 2016 NHRA Mello Yello drag racing season. Between close calls, near wrecks, and full on calamities the pro mods have been living up to their reputation as the wildest machines on four wheels. Last weekend in Norwalk, Ohio it was Chris Juliano’s turn to experience the fury that the pro mod cars can dole out.

Juliano was attempting to qualify for the field in his awesome looking nitrous assisted Mustang and things went very wrong for him between the 330ft block and the beginning of the eighth mile trap. The video is not the clearest so it it hard to say what caused the car to make the violent move that ended up with it turning over on its roof but it is almost like it tried to pull a wheelie at that point on the drag strip and it came down awkwardly.

Juliano was OK in the incident and got out of the car under his own power. We’re not downplaying the wreck in any fashion but we are saying that it could have been worse. The mashing hit against the wall was made in more of a glancing fashion rather than a real pile driver. The car spent a long time sliding on its roof before coming to a stop in King’s lane.

We’re glad that once again the chassis protected the driver in his moment of need because this one could have turned out far differently if it had not.
