I’m all excited because this is Ohio Mile Week, baby! That’s right, the first meet of the 2014 ECTA season will be taking place at Wilmington, Ohio this weekend and you should be there. Why? Because you’ll see iron like Sean Mote’s insane Cadillac that we featured here last year and dubbed the “Coupe de Kill”. Recently, Sean had the car on the chassis dyno, getting some numbers out of his newest Cadillac engine creation. Remember, this thing runs real Cadillac power in the form of 500ci 1970s era engines that wear good heads, EFI, and as much boost as they can handle. During the dyno session and before the issue you see below, the car made 906hp and over 861 lb/ft of torque to the wheels on 14-psi of boost out of the single 106mm turbo. Like I said, that was BEFORE this video was made.

In this clip, the car shears all the torque converter bolts and gaks up the flexplate in the process. The engine makes incredible torque down low and the shearing happens long before Sean gets the car spun all the way up to speed. The one area that has been a constant struggle for Sean on this car has been transmissions and their surrounding pieces. The Cadillac engines, with their beefy nodular iron cranks are strong enough to handle most of what Sean is throwing at them but for whatever reason, the transmissions aren’t happy with carrying all of the torque from front to back for long periods of time in the car. The good news is that the car is already fixed and driving around town. We hope that Sean still plans on Wilmington because we want to see him blast that thing every closer to speeds in the neighborhood of 200!
